HOST POSITION PROFILE

Reports To: Director of Food + Beverage - Position is Non-Exempt

Who You Are

You understand the art and science behind hospitality responsibilities. Food and beverage are part of your identity, and you stay updated on new restaurant openings and local favorites. You love creating curated experiences, enjoy taking care of others, and are known for your organizational skills. You handle busy situations well, make smart decisions on the spot, and aim to spread joy.

The Role

The Restaurant Host reports to the F&B Managers and collaborates with other F&B staff. You should have a background in service techniques, time management, and customer assistance. Your responsibilities include creating memorable guest experiences and making first impressions count. Reliability, professionalism, teamwork, humility, and a positive attitude are essential.

What You Will Do
  • Uphold the company’s principles of People, Place, and Character.
  • Assist guests from greeting to departure, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
  • Participate in daily meetings and team discussions to improve service and share feedback.
  • Maintain knowledge of menus, ingredients, and alcohol service laws; handle monetary transactions accurately.
  • Serve food and beverages respecting health and safety protocols.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, demonstrate urgency and respect for guests and colleagues.
  • Learn and apply culinary and beverage terminology to enhance guest experiences.
  • Report facility issues to management for timely resolution.
  • Assist in other F&B areas like Banquets, Bar, and In-Room Dining.
What You Will Need
  • Passion for community, hospitality, and guest service.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a server in a restaurant or hotel setting.
  • Alcohol service certification and SafeStaff Certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Legal age to serve alcohol.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal.
Additional Requirements
  • Continuous standing and walking, negotiating varied surfaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs., handle hot fluids, and work in extreme temperatures.
  • Fine motor skills for serving and setting up.
  • Good balance and sight for navigating different environments.
