Job summary

Holly Hill Inn is seeking a friendly front-of-house host to warmly greet guests and assist seating to create a memorable dining experience. You’ll manage OpenTable reservations, prioritize seating, and help walk-ins while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Role requires standing for up to six hours, effective communication with guests and staff, and keeping the host area clean and organized to support a smooth service flow.

Qualifications

• Friendly and professional personality.
• Ability to work on your feet for up to six hours.
• Knowledge of OpenTable and completion of its Orientation.
• Food Service Handlers card.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests entering the restaurant and thank guests leaving.
• Operate and manage the reservation system (OpenTable).
• Prioritize reservations and seat guests in a timely manner.
• Accommodate walk-in guests when possible.
• Communicate delays or waits clearly to guests.
• Maintain an organized floor and seating according to standards.
• Maintain warm guest communications in-house and via phone/email.
• Recognize key guests and alert management and kitchen staff as needed.
• Communicate special needs to management and kitchen.
• Support team members to ensure guest satisfaction during all service stages.
• Engage management for guest issues or complaints.
• Keep the host stand and front door area clean and organized.
• Assist with additional FOH tasks per manager’s direction.

Position Summary:

To provide a warm and attentive greeting and welcome to all who enter the front door. To thank bid farewell to each guest as they leave and to expeditiously and courteously seat guests in the dining room, and help set the stage for a wonderful experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet all guests entering the restaurant and thank all guests leaving the restaurant
• Understand, operate and manage the reservation system- currently Open Table
• Ensure reservations are prioritized and seated in a timely manner
• Strive to accommodate walk-in guests whenever possible
• Clearly and politely communicate with guests when delays and/or waits occur
• Maintain an organized floor by quickly and efficiently seating guests according to company standards
• Maintain professional and warm guest communications - inside the restaurant or via phone/email
• Recognize key people, alert management and kitchen of their presence.
• Communicate any special needs/ wants with management and kitchen,
• Communicate respectfully and clearly with service team and management
• Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
• Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and front door area
• Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by manager
• Assist teammates to anticipate all other FOH needs including bussing, running food, server assistant tasks
