Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a Seasonal Host at Schweitzer to greet guests, manage reservations, and seat guests with care. The role supports dining room operations, cleans tables, refills drinks, and maintains a positive guest experience. Availability nights and weekends is required, with shifts e.g.

10:00am-4:00pm or 4:00pm-9:00pm. The season runs from late November through April. Wage is $14.00 per hour plus tips; employment status can be full-time or part-time.

Position Summary:

The Host is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting and seating them in a friendly and efficient manner. They manage reservations, waitlists, and coordinate seating flow to ensure smooth restaurant operations and a positive guest experience. Additionally they support the dining room team by clearing and resetting tables, refilling water, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the restaurant. They help ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience for guests. Must be available nights and weekends. The typical shift is 10:00am-4:00pm or 4:00pm-9:00pm. Position begins in late November and will end in April.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

• Manage Guest Flow: Professionally and calmly maintain a steady flow of seating, greet all guests warmly, and provide accurate wait times while offering beverages during the wait.
• Seat Guests Thoughtfully: Seat guests based on their preferences, server workload, and seating capacity; distribute menus and provide booster seats or highchairs as needed.
• Communicate with Team: Quickly inform servers of guest seating and relay any special requests to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Support Guest Experience: Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return; assist with water service and soda refills throughout their visit.
• AssistwithRestaurantOperations: Clean and reset tables, helpservers with sidework, and perform additional tasks to support the overallflowandcleanliness of the restaurant.

• Technical- Basic computer skills required
• Physical Capabilities- Able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
