Job summary

Talk of the Town Restaurant Group seeks an experienced dining room supervisor to oversee servers and host/hostess, ensuring 5-star service and teamwork. You will train new staff on fine dining guidelines and etiquette, and manage host stand operations and seating arrangements.

Strong communication and English language skills are required for fast-paced service. Responsibilities include taking reservations, coordinating events, and supporting management during dinner service.

Qualifications

• Two years of fine dining experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dining operations and high service standards in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective communicator and collaborator with excellent phone etiquette.
• Strong math and problem-solving abilities with good computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of dining room servers and host/hostess to meet service standards.
• Support dining management in training new team members on fine dining guidelines and etiquette.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper opening/closing of the host stand.
• Ensure team members are properly attired and uniformed.
• Assign servers to reservation floor plan and assist during dinner service as needed.
• Make reservations by phone and in person; manage messages and callbacks promptly.
• Arrange setup for special events and assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: Oversee dining room operations by providing solution-oriented, positive, exemplary customer service. Will oversee operations within the dining room and at the hostess podium. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

• Provide leadership and oversight of duties conducted by dining room servers and host/hostess, ensuring delivery of services in in alignment with Talk of The Town service standards.
• Support dining management in the training of new team members relative to fine dining guidelines and dining concierge/reservation guidelines and etiquette.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper opening/closing of the host stand.
• Ensure team members are properly attired/uniformed.
• Assigns servers to reservation floor plan.
• Attends pre-meal meetings and assists during dinner service as needed.
• Make reservations by phone and in person for dining and for to-go orders. Answer phone, check messages and return calls promptly.
• Assures set up of special events.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Two years of fine dining experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge of dining operations. Ability to provide high customer service levels in a fast-paced environment. Effective communicator and collaborator. Excellent telephone skills and professional manner. Must possess math and problem-solving abilities. Good computer skills. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-50 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time standing (90%) or sitting (10%). Ability to lead guests to tables and assist with seating.
