Ella Dining Room and Bar in Sacramento invites a guest-focused Host to warmly greet guests, seat diners, and manage dining room flow using OpenTable. You will help maintain reservation accuracy, communicate guest needs, and support smooth service throughout shifts.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of host experience in fine dining, strong communication, and a team-first attitude. The role offers competitive hourly pay, dining perks, and benefits through Selland Hospitality Group.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Host experience in a full-service fine dining setting.
• Experience operating OpenTable floorplan in a high-volume setting.
• Active RBS Card.
• Must be at least 18 years of age with reliable transportation.
• Articulate communication skills and hospitable demeanor; team-first mindset.
• Ability to work various hours as business dictates.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and manage seating.

Position Summary Hosts are responsible for maintaining high customer service standards while greeting and seating guests, taking requests, and managing dining room flow. You will control floor moves in OpenTable to ensure balanced server rotations, manage phone calls and reservations, support table turn times, and maintain sanitary food handling and guest-area presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer an immediate, warm, and hospitable welcome to every guest arriving at the restaurant.
• Maintain, update, and manage the OpenTable reservation system and floorplan seamlessly throughout shift.
• Manage seating flow and server section rotations to ensure balanced service pacing.
• Articulately communicate guest needs, special requests, and dietary needs to floor managers and servers.
• Assist with phone inquiries, booking/confirming reservations, table bussing, and maintaining host station cleanliness.
• Warmly acknowledge departing guests to ensure a lasting positive impression.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of Host experience in a full-service fine dining setting.
• Proven ability to operate and maintain the OpenTable floorplan in a high-volume environment.
• Active Responsible Beverage Serving (RBS) Card.
• Must be at least 18 years of age with reliable transportation.

• Ability to work various hours and days as business dictates.
