Responsibilities

• Answer phone professionally according to restaurant standards.
• Greet guests warmly upon arrival.
• Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible.
• Know restaurant standards, table numbers, wait sections, menu and specials, and be able to answer guest questions effectively.
• Take reservations and enter on Resy according to restaurant standards. Prompt for additional information and email when possible.
• Record guest names and party size on Resy wait list when immediate seating is limited.
• Call out name and party size when tables become available.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting times.
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests when possible.
• Seat guests based on preferences while balancing service flow.
• Re-work reservations and waiter sections to accommodate walk-ins and last-minute reservations; inform management as needed.
• Upon seating, offer a menu and inform guests of their server's name; inspect table for presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers, bussers and managers as needed, including guest notes from Resy.
• Help with bussing and drink service if time allows.
• Thank guests and invite them to return.
• Be available to fill in to ensure smooth operation as directed by management.

POSITION SUMMARY

Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answer phone professionally and according to restaurant standard.
• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
• When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
• Know restaurant standards, table numbers, wait sections, menu, specials, and be able to answer any questions customers may have effectively.
• Take reservations and enter on Resy according to restaurant standards. Prompt customer for additional information and email whenever possible.
• When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party on Resy wait list.
• Call out name and number of party when tables become available.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
• Accommodatespecial seating requests for guests whenever possible.
• Seat guest/guests based on preferences and while balancing customer flow in service stations.
• Be able to re-work existing reservations and waiter sections to accommodate walk-ins and unexpected last minute reservations. Inform Management and staff of changes.
• Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server's name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers, bus and manager as needed, especially guest notes from Resy.
• Help with bussing and drink service if time warrants.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• No previous restaurant experience required.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
• Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Must have exceptional grooming habits.
