Dear Irving on Hudson is hiring talented front door hosts to greet guests and manage the waitlist in a high-volume, upscale cocktail bar in New York.

Job description

Dear Irving on Hudson is hiring talented and experienced front door team members! We are a busy, upscale cocktail bar that thrives off upbeat energy, passionate individuals & creative cocktails. We are seeking full and part time hosts that can represent our brand and can make a great first impression for our guests. The host will be responsible for maintaining the flow of service and the waitlist. Hosts should be able to give customers an accurate estimated wait time to maximize the venue space without overwhelming bartenders and servers. Experience with Resy Reservations or OpenTable is required.

We seek to create memorable experiences for our guests and that requires a host that can maintain control of a high-volume venue, excellent communication skills and a stellar attitude. If you are a problem solver, a quick thinker, patient, pleasant, detail oriented and can communicate well and you are interested in the position please send in a cover letter with your application.

Position Qualifications

• Professional and polished demeanor and look
• Must be able to work late nights and weekends
• Must have at least 2 year of experience in hospitality and customer service
• Interest in cocktails
• Experience with Resy reservation systems
• TIPS certified (optional for hiring but if you do join the team you will be required to take the course and will be reimbursed)
• Fluent in English
• Able to stay focused and committed to the job while on the clock
• Takes initiative
• Excellent communication
• Takes direction well and is willing to go above and beyond for the job and for your co-workers
• Maintain composure and patience with all guests
• Must be literate in Microsoft Office, have experience setting up/maintaining POS's and reservation platforms such as Resy or Open Table.
