Red Hook Tavern is looking for a Host

We are seeking a friendly and professional host to join our team. The host is typically the first person a guest meets at the tavern, setting the tone for the entire experience. All host candidates should possess a warm personality and strong communication skills. An interest in the food and beverage industry is required, and staying up to date with NYC restaurant news is a plus.

Weekend availability is a must.

Responsibilities:

1. Greet guests as they enter and manage the waiting list as necessary.
2. Provide guests with links to menus and answer any initial questions.
3. Seat guests graciously, keeping table rotation in mind.
4. Engage with guests upon departure to enhance their dining experience.
5. Efficiently manage the floor plan, coordinating reservations and the waitlist.
6. Take guest information and quote wait times accurately when tables are not immediately available.
7. Observe and respond to the needs of guests and team members.
8. Assist dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, replenishing water, and serving beverages.
9. Stay informed about all food menu items and changes.
10. Be knowledgeable about our wine, beer, and cocktail list, including basic understanding of classic cocktails and taking drink orders.

Requirements:
