Volunteer: Host a Foreign Exchange Student!

Join us to apply for the Volunteer: Host a Foreign Exchange Student! role at Education Travel & Culture.

ETC provides inbound and outbound program opportunities for high school students worldwide, allowing them to study in American high schools or abroad, and live with host families. Our organization is dedicated to providing exceptional support to both students and host families through a network of local coordinators and staff.

Earn the Presidential Volunteer Service Award by hosting a foreign exchange student! You can earn up to 25 hours per week, which looks great on college applications and resumes.

ETC collaborates with the U.S. Department of State to place students from 15 countries, aged 14-18, who are seeking an American family to share this unique experience.

What does being a host family entail?

• Providing a safe, nurturing home environment
• Offering a private room and bed (shared with a similar-aged sibling if applicable)
• Providing three meals daily
• Transporting students to/from school and activities
• Offering love and support
• Families with or without children are accepted

What are the students like?

• Bring their own spending money and health insurance
• Have good English skills
• Are thoroughly screened
• Are excited to meet their American host family
