Job summary

Jersey Shore Restaurant Group in Half Moon Point seeks a Host or Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests. You will greet arriving guests, manage wait times, and escort guests to dining or bar areas, ensuring a warm, efficient welcome in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have strong communication and organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to handle reservations and busy shifts. Training and growth opportunities are available within our dynamic team.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Host/Hostess experience preferred.
• Proficient in greeting guests and managing wait times.
• Familiar with restaurant etiquette and reservations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the venue.
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
• Manage reservations.
• Escort customers to dining or bar areas.
• Provide menus and announce the Waiter/Waitress’s name.
• Thank customers upon departure.
• Coordinate with wait staff on seating options.
• Maintain a clean reception area.
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly).
• Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries.
• Assist wait staff as needed.

For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to ensure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. You should also be available to work in shifts and comfortable using technology.

Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent customer service and a pleasant dining experience to our guests.

• Excellent communication skills (via phone and in person)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
• Availability to work in shifts as needed (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
• Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
