Job summary

The Barn Resort is seeking an independent problem-solver to join Farmhouse Restaurant as a Host/Hostess. You will lead restaurant operations in the manager's absence and model excellence to create an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities include ensuring restaurant appearance, supervising front-of-house tasks, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards while coordinating with team members and handling administrative duties. Evening and weekend shifts required.

• Organizational abilities and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to hear, speak, and physically navigate potentially loud and crowded spaces.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and to lift at least 25lb. when necessary.
• Willingness to both be a team player and to take a leading role on that team.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Reliable transportation.
• Proven experience in a leading role in a restaurant or other hospitality environment.

• Ensure the appearance of the entire restaurant (buffet lines, dining areas, guest entries, and checkout areas) is always appealing.
• Monitor guest experience throughout the restaurant to ensure the highest level of customer service.
• Maintain and enforce company standards of safety, sanitation, and security.
• Follow all cash-handling procedures as outlined by your supervisor and be familiar with the POS system.
• Direct team members and provide feedback to recognize good staff performance and correct behavior that is not up to the company standard.
• Complete administrative duties as assigned, which may include but are not limited to: preparing and changing seating arrangements, assisting with inventories, documenting customer requests and concerns, filing, answering the phone and directing calls, managing email.
• Supervise opening and/or closing duties for front of the house.
