Requirements

• Must be able to stand and exert fast‑paced mobility through the dining room for periods of up to 5 or more hours in length.
• Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees.
• Must have the ability to carry silverware, dishes and other items up to 35 lbs.
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand the primary language of the work location.
• Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.

Duties

• Communicate effectively with guests.
• Must be enthusiastic and make guests feel appreciated through actions.
• Select appropriate table using the rotation system and taking into account special requests from guests.
• Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and silverware and wishing them a pleasant dining experience while pointing out the point of sale as advertised on each table and informing them of the server’s name.
• Read the dining room for potential problem areas and attend to needs of guests in a manner fitting the situation.
• Manage a wait when necessary.
• Work as a team with all personnel.
• Consistently perform 20‑minute restroom checks and customer counts, including open menu counts for the kitchen.
• Treat all applicants as guests in the restaurant and inform a manager of their presence.
• Maintain proper telephone etiquette and effectively attend to the needs of callers if authorized, informing management of large party accommodations.
• Manage special seating requests of guests consistent with table availability. Assist with the duties of servers and server assistants as needed to maintain service effectiveness and efficiency. Perform other related duties as assigned by a manager.
