Job summary

Acme Oyster House is seeking a server to take food and beverage orders, serve guests and maintain a hospitable dining environment. You will coordinate with kitchen and bar, manage payments, and uphold service standards across a three-to-four table section.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of server experience in a busy restaurant, be able to communicate clearly, and comply with liquor regulations. On-site attendance is required, with possible training duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Minimum 1-year server experience in a high volume full-service restaurant
• Certification in alcoholic awareness program.
• Regular on-site attendance required.
• Ability to effectively communicate with managers, staff and customers to each's understanding.
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Flexible and adaptable with strong stress management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Always strive to exceed guests' expectations.
• Maintain complete knowledge of table numbers, hours of operation, proper table set-up.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, wines, beers and non-alcoholic selections and operate the POS system.
• Adhere to state liquor regulations, particularly prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.
• Handle guest complaints promptly and involve a manager when needed.
• Assist in training of new staff when assigned.
