Job summary

Motek, part of Happy Corner Hospitality Collective, seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations across a growing multi-unit hospitality group. You will verify sales transactions, process invoices, reconcile deposits, and prepare reports to ensure financial integrity.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Accounting, 1–3 years in hospitality accounting, proficiency with Excel, Restaurant 365, Toast, Stripe, and a solid GAAP understanding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or multi-unit operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Restaurant 365, Toast, Stripe.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
• Data-driven, detail-oriented approach to analysis and problem solving.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong collaboration within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve all daily sales transactions.
• Prepare, verify, and process invoices for sales or services rendered (house accounts).
• Administer deposits and reconcile payments by downloading bank activities.
• Maintain and prepare reports for ledger accounts and analyze variance per AR policies.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and ensure proper postings.
• Investigate discrepancies from POS sales and coordinate fixes.
• Process customer refunds, disputes, and chargebacks across platforms.
• Review and reconcile delivery charges and post-payments.
• Reconcile customer deposits and refunds for events.
• Analyze chargeback reasons, voids, and comps.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations (20+ accounts).
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Monitor and analyze financial data to resolve issues.
• Assist with schedule reconciliation.
• Ad-hoc reporting for upper management.
