Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group is seeking a Service Supervisor to join our Hospitality Service Team at Convene 600 Hamilton in Washington, D.C. You will oversee the setup, execution and breakdown of programs while upholding the highest standards of service and quality.

You will lead the service team, coordinate culinary and service operations, monitor inventory, enforce safety and sanitation, and train staff to maintain exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of progressive experience in a conference center or related field.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of service standards and different service types.
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules, and liquor laws.
• Ability to move objects up to 25 pounds; reach overhead and below knees.

Responsibilities

• Supervise setup, execution, and breakdown of all programming.
• Lead service team, support staff, and safety programs.
• Coordinate culinary service between culinary and service teams.
• Monitor inventory and communicate counts.
• Enforce safety rules and sanitation in service areas.
• Train service specialists to maintain standards.
• Manage opening and closing inspection duties.
• Ensure client satisfaction and professional guest interactions.
• Lead service technician duties during shifts.
