Job summary

Sonesta ES Suites SFO Oyster Point Waterfront in South San Francisco, CA is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee Housekeeping and Maintenance, supporting the General Manager in driving hotel performance.

The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness, leading teams, protecting assets, and improving labor and operating efficiency in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hotel operations or facilities management leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams in a hospitality environment.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, cleanliness standards, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
• Experience managing labor costs, departmental budgets, and inventory controls.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily housekeeping operations, room readiness, inspections, and cleaning standards.
• Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet or exceed brand standards.
• Manage staffing levels, training, coaching, and performance management for housekeeping staff.
• Partner closely with Front Desk leadership to ensure accurate room status and turnover efficiency.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
• Lead preventative maintenance programs and ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety equipment.
• Coordinate vendor services, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
