Job summary

tryhungry.com is seeking a hospitality-focused team member in Oakland to receive catering deliveries, heat and finish meals, present and serve food, and assist with coffee grinding and beverage service. You will maintain inventory, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure quality across all food and beverage items in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Hospitality, culinary, food prep experience and proven track record of success.
• Possess a Serv Safe Manager Certificate current Food Handler Card and understand food safety principles.
• Meticulous, dependable, organized, forward thinking, initiative-taking, and approachable.
• Careful understanding of products, allergens, and ingredients.
• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions & request clarification when needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive deliveries of catering items from our food partner/delivery partners.
• Heat and finish meals in the oven, garnishing according to chef's specifications.
• Present and serve food in a clean and organized manner.
• Educate customers & professionally answer food related questions.
• Assist Porter/Barista with coffee grinding and brewing equipment when necessary.
• Maintain careful inventory of all food products/orders.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns, maintaining supplies, assisting Barista with performing preventive maintenance.
• Stocking and restocking of snack products.
• Quality Assurance of all food and beverage items
• service 3 Coffee machines, 4 Water/ice machines, helping manage the micro market--accepting orders & stocking products
