Job summary

HUNGRY in Oakland is seeking a hands-on hospitality teammate to receive deliveries, heat and finish meals, present food neatly, and answer customer questions with professionalism.

You will maintain inventory, assist Barista with coffee and equipment, and help keep the workspace clean and organized in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety and quality at every step. Previous hospitality experience and Serv Safe certifications are valued. Compensation is $28/hr.

Qualifications

• Minimum Serv Safe Manager Certificate and Food Handler Card required.
• Hospitality or culinary experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

• Receive deliveries of catering items from our food partner/delivery partners
• Heat and finish meals in the oven, garnishing according to chef's specifications
• Present and serve food in a clean and organized manner
• Educate customers & professionally answer food related questions
• Assist Porter/Barista with coffee grinding and brewing equipment when necessary
• Maintain careful inventory of all food products/orders
• Troubleshoot breakdowns, maintaining supplies, assisting Barista with performing preventive maintenance.
• Stocking and restocking of snack products.
• Quality Assurance of all food and beverage items
• service 3 Coffee machines, 4 Water/ice machines, helping manage the micro market--accepting orders & stocking products

• Previous Hospitality, culinary, food prep experience and proven track record of success
• Possess a Serv Safe Manager Certificate current Food Handler Card and understand food safety principles
• Meticulous, dependable, organized, forward thinking, initiative-taking, and approachable.
• Comfortable learning new tasks and using new tools.
• Accurate problem reporting and resolution
• Careful understanding of products, allergens, and ingredients.
• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions & request clarification when needed

Compensation: $28/hr
