Job summary

El Capitan Hotel Merced is seeking a Human Resources Manager to partner with leaders and employees across the property, guiding hiring, onboarding, and employee relations while balancing daily HR operations with strategic initiatives in a hospitality setting.

You will manage payroll processes, benefits, leave administration, HRIS, and records, while delivering orientation and training to develop engaged, high-performing teams that reflect our culture of hospitality and care.

Qualifications

• 3+ years HR experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, payroll, benefits, and leave administration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary People partner for El Capitan Hotel.
• Partner with managers on hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management.
• Lead investigations and ensure policies are applied consistently.
• Support payroll, benefits, leave, workers' compensation, and HRIS with accuracy.
• Facilitate new hire orientation and deliver training.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Support staffing plans and recruitment efforts.
• Build relationships with local schools and community partners for recruiting.
• Create employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
• Collaborate with Corporate People Team on company initiatives.
• Foster trust, accountability, open communication and hospitality culture.
