Job summary

Tandem Hospitality Group is seeking an Accounting Manager in Lexington, KY to lead day-to-day accounting for our hotel and restaurant portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will ensure accurate month-end close, prepare financial statements, and supervise staff accountants.

You will coordinate tax filings, strengthen internal controls, and standardize workflows across the portfolio while working closely with property leaders and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including month-end close leadership.
• 2+ years supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close across hotel, restaurant, and corporate entities.
• Review statements, GL activity, entries, and reconciliations for GAAP compliance.
• Supervise staff accountants; assign work and review deliverables.
• Oversee daily accounting operations including payroll postings and reconciliations.
• Coordinate tax filings and payments; maintain filing calendars.
• Partner with Corporate and property teams on payables, receivables, and cash controls.
• Facilitate recurring meetings and follow through on actions.
• Perform control reviews and document exceptions.
• Maintain standardized policies and close checklists.
• Support audits with schedules and documentation.
• Explain financial results to GMs and Regional Directors.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements in systems and workflows.
• Support new property openings and transitions to shared-services model.
