Job summary

DoubleTree Albuquerque - Assistant Director Engineering by Aimbridge Hospitality is seeking a leader to maintain hotel facilities, HVAC, and electrical systems while driving energy efficiency.

The role requires 5–7 years in major hotel environments with supervisory experience, strong communication, and budgeting skills. Licensing and team leadership are essential for success in this on-site position that upholds AAA Four-Diamond and Forbes Four Star standards.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education required.
• Bachelor’s Degree or related technical school degree preferred.
• Five to seven years in a major hotel, hospital, or building, including four years in a supervisory capacity.
• Ability to obtain/maintain government licenses and a first class operating engineer's license as required.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the workplace language.
• Experience with budgeting, purchasing, and vendor bids.

Responsibilities

• Conduct walk-throughs to assess maintenance and operation of hotel facilities and systems.
• Supervise staff, assist in hiring, training, and disciplining department personnel.
• Oversee energy management, preventive maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Manage purchasing controls, bids, budgets, and contractor oversight.
• Maintain reports and communications with the General Manager and department heads.
• Oversee payroll, staffing schedules, and water treatment programs.
• Represent hotel in community and industry events and foster teamwork.
