Job summary

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in related field, or Bachelors degree in Hospitality or related area and minimum of six to eight years of work experience in the related topic area.
• Minimum of three to five years of work experience in the related topic area.
• PhD in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year college level teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with Moodle or similar education software.

Responsibilities

• Prepares daily lesson plans for classes and teaches classes as requested and in a manner consistent with the philosophy, policies, and guidelines of the Institute.
• Works individually as an informal faculty advisor for students who may need extra help or career guidance.
• Provides regular and constructive feedback to students and evaluates performance using established methods and criteria.
• Evaluates and documents student performance using established methods and criteria.
• Compiles and posts instructional materials in accordance with College Catalog descriptions and outlines for online environments.
• Compiles and submits assigned assessment data for review.
• Maintains and submits records of attendance, progress, and grades, including online participation.
• Actively uses CIACares to report absences, performance issues, and policy breaches.
• Maintains classroom discipline and order during instructional activities.
• Enforces sanitation, attendance, professionalism, and other academic policies.
• Assumes responsibility for classroom equipment and facilities as applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.
