Job summary

SMG System Medical Group in West Virginia is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional within the Department of Medicine, Hospitalist Medicine. The role includes leadership over hospitalist APP personnel and involvement in credentialing and improving patient care across multiple sites.

You will collaborate with the Medical Director and leadership to develop educational programs, ensure standards, and drive quality initiatives while maintaining compliance with state requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.

Responsibilities

• Manages hospitalist inpatient APP personnel to ensure credentialed, clinically competent, cohesive workforce.
• Functions as a staff role model, promoting cooperative problem-solving and regular attendance at meetings.
• Assists in development and implementation of ongoing educational programs for staff.
• Manages inpatient APPs to ensure adequate coverage in inpatient settings.
• Maintains effective communication with Medical Staff, patients, and other departments to resolve problems.
