Job summary

WVU Medicine’s Ruby Memorial Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the hospitalist team. The APP provides high-quality, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary framework, assessing, diagnosing, and managing hospitalized patients under this role’s scope.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for hospitalized patients and their families.
• Completes daily rounds; consults and/or pre-procedure/evaluations.
• Completes integrated assessments.
• Coordinates involvement of hospitalist faculty and specialty teams to develop patient plans and reviews care with the clinical team.
• Performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures and coordinates ambulatory management and discharge planning.
