Job summary

Kootenai Health is seeking a floated Registered Nurse to join our Nursing Resource Team, providing adaptable care across medical-surgical, behavioral health, ED, and critical care units. This role supports patient-centered care with a focus on evidence-based practice and interprofessional collaboration.

You will participate in nursing processes, patient teaching, and team communication while maintaining high standards of safety and quality in a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required.
• State of Idaho RN licensure OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a compact state prior to start date.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Restraint C required during Kootenai Essentials.
• MOAB certification required during Kootenai Essentials.
• NIHSS required within 90 days of hire or before 3E orientation, whichever comes first.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for an assigned patient population in a variety of care areas.
• Assists physician during examinations and procedures.
• Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
• Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patient and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills.
• Performs a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Familiar with standards of care, practices, and procedures within the NRT tier 4 float cluster and units supported.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
• Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned.

Education

Nursing program graduate

RN licensure or pending temporary licensure

BLS certification

ACLS within 90 days of hire

Restraint C certification

MOAB certification

NIHSS within 90 days of hire
