Job summary

Petco Vetco Total Care is hiring a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to provide high-quality veterinary care in our full-service hospital. You will perform exams, diagnose diseases, develop treatment plans, and lead your team to deliver outstanding patient and client experiences.

This role emphasizes dentistry, spay/neuter surgeries, anesthesia, and collaboration with referral hospitals. Strong communication, compassion, and teamwork are essential; state licensure, DEA, and USDA accreditation

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from AVMA-accredited school.
• Active license to practice in the state of Texas at start date.
• Current DEA license and controlled substances permit.
• USDA accreditation or demonstrate ability to obtain within two months.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care with exams, diagnoses and preventive care.
• Perform surgeries including spays/neuters and dentals; manage anesthesia.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate with referral hospitals as needed.
• Document clinical observations and communicate clearly with clients.
• Participate in rounds and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Maintain professionalism and uphold Petco SOPs in all duties.
