Job summary

Petco Total Rewards and Vetco Total Care hospital seek a dedicated Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to lead our high-quality veterinary team in providing comprehensive patient care. You will perform surgeries, dentistry, and preventive care with a compassionate, client-focused approach.

The position requires an active Texas/state license, DEA license, and USDA accreditation, plus comfort with anesthesia and routine surgeries.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited school.
• Active veterinary license in the state where the hospital is located.
• DEA license current.
• USDA accreditation current or achievable within two months of hire.
• Comfort with anesthesia and routine surgeries (canine/feline).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and compassionate bedside manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care with physical exams, diagnostics, and preventive care.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters and dentistry.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate care with referral hospitals as needed.
• Document patient observations, exams, diagnostics, treatments, and interactions clearly in the medical record.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (AVMA-accredited)

Active veterinary license in the state

DEA license

USDA Category I Accreditation
