Job summary

Petco is seeking a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to join its Vetco Total Care hospital in the United States. You will deliver comprehensive veterinary care, including exams, diagnostics, surgery, and dental procedures, while leading patient care with a collaborative team.

Expect to develop treatment plans, coordinate with referrals when needed, and participate in rounds. A strong emphasis on communication, mentorship, and maintaining Petco's high standard of care across all patients and clients.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited school.
• Active veterinary license in the relevant state; US supervision requirements.
• Current DEA license and Controlled Substances certification, if applicable.
• USDA Accreditation or plan to complete within two months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care through exams, diagnoses, and preventive care.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters and dentistry.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate care with referral hospitals as needed.
• Participate in rounds and disseminate knowledge to improve patient care.
• Ensure patient and client satisfaction through strong communication.
