Job summary

WVU is seeking a dedicated Food Service Technician to join the team at United Hospital Center (UHC) in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This full-time role involves preparing and delivering food trays, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring patient dietary needs are met.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in a kitchen environment. A current Food Handlers card is required or should be obtained within the first 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• One (1) year experience in a long-term care facility or hospital kitchen.
• Current Food Handlers card or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to adapt to sudden and frequent changes in work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers food trays in accordance with established diet therapy protocols.
• Fulfills daily/weekly cleaning duties as defined in job descriptions.
• Works with nursing to distribute patient meal trays ensuring all patients are fed.
