Methodist Hospital is seeking a Hospital Transport Aide to join our team. You will transport patients within inpatient areas, ensuring safety, courtesy, and efficiency, and collaborate with care teams to support patient care needs.

Responsibilities include transfers, using communication/technology to improve service, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Flexibility in daily duties and a 28-hour work week are required.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary:

Transporters will work with hospital staff in ancillary departments, patient care units and the rehabilitation department to provide safe, courteous, and efficient transport services to all patients within Methodist Hospital inpatient areas.

Transporters will:

• Perform or assist with the transfers of patients to appropriate mode of transport vehicle.
• Utilize communication and technology to assist in the efficiency of the transport service.
• Duties require initiative, organizational skills, written and telephone communication skills, base level computer skills, and meeting schedule timelines.
• Work collaboratively as a team with all care providers and other internal customers.

Daily flexibility in work duties is a requirement to support the department in meeting its patient care needs.

Work Schedule:

FTE .7, (28 hours per week), Days, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Required Qualifications:

• Must be able to work independently.

Preferred qualifications:

• High School Graduate/GED
• Previous experience as a rehab aide, radiology aide, nursing assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant training.
• Current enrollment in an allied health program.
• Six months experience in a customer service or volunteer position
