Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Therapy Technician to support occupational and physical therapists in delivering treatment programs for patients from newborn to adulthood. The role operates in a fast-paced hospital setting and emphasizes developmentally appropriate care.

You will assist with setup/cleanup, documentation, and coordination of patient transportation with therapists and staff. A CPS-friendly environment requires attentiveness to safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education is required or preferred
• Experience with working with children is preferred
• Current basic life support or CPR certification is preferred
• Demonstration of basic clinical and non-clinical competencies
• Ability to be articulate, courteous and supportive with hospital staff, patients and parents

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate care for patients from Neonate to Adult as assigned
• Attends hospital health, safety and in-service trainings
• Sets up and cleans patient care areas as requested by therapists or therapy assistants
• Performs patient care tasks within the scope of training under supervision
• Coordinates patient transportation with therapists, patient care units and coworkers
• Maintains inventory of linen and patient supplies
• Cleans and disinfects hydrotherapy whirlpools and therapy mats per protocol
• Documents activities per department and hospital guidelines
• Notifies managers of any patient safety concerns or unusual situations
