Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to install, configure, and support voice and communications systems across clinical, academic, and administrative environments.

The role collaborates with IT, clinical operations, vendors, and end users to meet high-availability requirements in a leading health system. Primary responsibilities include setup, maintenance, and problem resolution.

Qualifications

Two+ years in enterprise telecommunications/UC
Experience with VoIP, IP networks, PBX/call-management
Experience with ticketing, incident docs, customer support

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot telecom equipment (VoIP, PBX, voicemails).
Provide Tier 1/3 technical support for voice incidents and service requests.
Monitor systems for performance, availability, and quality.
Support hospital and ambulatory operations' communications workflows.
Coordinate with network, cybersecurity, and clinical tech teams.
Manage numbers, extensions, hunt groups, auto attendants, and voicemail.
Perform installations, cabling, endpoint deployment, testing, and docs.
Maintain records of configurations, inventory, and SOPs.
Work with vendors for service orders, repairs, and activations.
Participate in upgrades, DR planning, and after-hours maintenance.
Ensure work complies with policies, security, and patient-care priorities.
Provide end-user training as needed.
