Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• At least three years of Telecommunications preferred.
• General office equipment includes telephone, fax, copier, and scanner.
• Outlook, Word, Excel, Windows, Internet browsing needed for computer skill set.
• Working knowledge of basic smartphones and pagers.
• OHS Fit Test Required.
• OHS Annual Assessment Required.

Responsibilities

• Operates the medical center switchboard and responds to internal and external calls, paging inquiry, codes and overhead paging requests.
• Performs general clerical duties including faxing, copying, scanning, filing and documenting information as needed.
• Assists in working with telecommunication devices (phones, cell phones and pagers swaps and activations).
• Responds to directory assistance and locates appropriate numbers or transfers calls as required; provides directory and general Medical Center information.
• Maintains telephone directory and updates as necessary; notifies supervisor of changes in directory; operates and maintains communication equipment correctly.
• Operates all stations including fax, voice/digital pagers; notifies supervisor of malfunctions; provides immediate response to emergency calls; monitors alarms.
