Job summary

UW Health University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority in Madison seeks a skilled Steamfitter to install and service steam heating, hot water systems, gas and electric heating systems, heat exchangers, chilled water and DX systems on site.

You will perform welding and brazing, work with BAS interfaces, and support reliable operation of critical hospital infrastructure, contributing to patient safety and comfort. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Five year steamfitter apprenticeship or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
• EPA certification within 6 months required.
• Journeyman certificate within 6 months required.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Install and diagnose pneumatic and DDC controls.
• Install and maintain steam heating and hot water systems, gas and electric heating systems, heat exchangers for domestic and heating water systems, chilled water, glycol and DX systems.
• Utilize welding and brazing skills.
• Possess knowledge of BAS interface; JCI and Trane systems are a plus.
