Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a skilled tradesperson focused on maintenance and engineering services for critical and non-critical equipment and building systems. You will work in University Hospital with a 7:00 am–3:30 pm schedule, ensuring safe and reliable healthcare environments.

Key responsibilities include installing and diagnosing pneumatic and DDC controls, maintaining steam heating, hot water systems, and DX systems, and applying welding/brazing expertise while leveraging BAS

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Five year steamfitter apprenticeship or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
  • EPA certification within 6 months required.
  • Journeyman certificate within 6 months required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Install and diagnose pneumatic and DDC controls.
  • Install and maintain steam heating and hot water systems, gas and electric heating systems, heat exchangers for domestic and heating water systems, chilled water, glycol and DX systems.
  • Utilize skills with welding and brazing.
  • Possess knowledge of BAS interface. JCI and Trane systems are a plus.
