Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking an Associate Chaplain to staff the Mission Services Department, providing religious and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff, and responding promptly to requests.

This role emphasizes ethical integration, collaboration with the Experience Department, documenting rounds, service recovery, and readiness to support hospital emergencies within Incident Command.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 CPE unit required.
• Endorsement/Commissioning by faith tradition and ordination required.

Responsibilities

• Staff the Mission Services Department to provide religious and spiritual care for patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Respond promptly to requests for spiritual care and address needs.
• Assess religious and spiritual needs and offer guidance and support.
• Document rounds and participate in service recovery as needed.
• Provide psychosocial support during hospital emergencies under Incident Command.
