Job summary

Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX is seeking a Chef Sous to oversee the kitchen operation and deliver high-quality dietary services for patients, families, and staff. You will maintain professional standards, coordinate feeding programs, and support the Dietary Department's service excellence.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in Food Management or Culinary Services, has 2+ years in a large food service facility, and can read/write English; food handler permit and driver license

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Food Management / Culinary Services preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a large Food Service facility coordinating large functions; some management experience preferred.
• Food Handler's permit required upon hire. Certified Chef preferred. Current valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and write English. Ability to communicate with staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others. Ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to coordinate large functions. Good inter-personal skills, with ability to communicate effectively and record documentation legibly. Quantitative/mathematical ability. Understands volumes, weights, and measures. Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft applications required. Must successfully complete the pre-employment assessment.

Responsibilities

• The Chef Sous position is responsible for the overall kitchen operation in accordance with the standard/prescribed procedures of the Dietary Department. Provides dietary services for patients, families and staff.
