Job description

Hospital Services Technician

$18/hr, Day Shift, Good Benefits, No Weekends.

Position Purpose

Hospital Services Technicians travel between customer healthcare facilities providing on-site proactive collection and exchange of waste containers for various Stericycle programs, including but not limited to Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management. This service is provided at regular intervals for assigned facilities.

Key Job Activities
  • Travel between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for Stericycle programs and services, including Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substance, and Document Management.
  • Interact professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain a rigid collection and service schedule.
  • Communicate duty status on a defined schedule.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds and push/pull carts weighing as much as 500 pounds.
Experience
  • 2+ years of work experience or a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings and situations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities.
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of computer/handheld software applications including spreadsheets, and application-based programs to track daily KPIs.
  • May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
Schedule

32 hours a week – still considered full‑time

Shift Hours: 5:00 am to 1:00 pm

  • Monday: Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center (Temple)
  • Tuesday: Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center (Temple)Wednesday: OFF
  • Thursday: Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center (Temple) & McLane Children’s Medical Center (Temple)
  • Friday: Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center (Temple)
