Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Protective Services Officer (Unarmed) at St Francis Medical Center to support campus safety. You will escort patients and staff, patrol grounds, respond to incidents, and enforce parking, visitation, and tobacco policies.

Responsibilities include CCTV monitoring, incident documentation, and coordination with clinical teams and law enforcement as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preferred vocational/technical degree and a valid driver’s

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 1-2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• Experience with defensive tools and restraint equipment in healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients, visitors and employees, patrolling grounds and addressing safety hazards.
• Deterrence of crime through routine patrols of hospital property including parking areas.
• Enforce policies such as parking, visitation, drug enforcement and tobacco-free policies.
• Monitor hospital activity via closed-circuit television and respond to incidents.
• Intervene in confrontations and document all duties with daily activity logs and incident reports.
