Job summary

Nantucket Cottage Hospital is seeking a Security professional to safeguard patients, visitors, and staff by patrolling facilities and enforcing security regulations. You will report hazards, investigate incidents, and assist in restraining individuals when necessary under state license guidelines.

Essential duties include documenting incidents, coordinating with law enforcement, and supporting emergency response. A background in hospital security and related certifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Criminal Justice preferred
• Experience in hospital, security/police, emergency medical or customer services 3-5 years preferred
• Licenses: Basic Life Support preferred; security certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas, focusing on high-risk zones to deter theft and injury.
• Investigates thefts, misconduct, and disturbances; notifies law enforcement as needed.
• Prepares detailed incident reports and logs, maintains evidence custody.
• Operates dispatch systems to coordinate responders and communications.
• Responds to medical emergencies and assists in restraining patients when authorized.
• Participates in departmental committees and teams as needed.
