Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe, secure environment on hospital property. The role involves patrolling grounds, monitoring alarms and cameras, and assisting staff and visitors while enforcing hospital policies.

Responsibilities include incident reporting, investigations, and coordination with law enforcement as needed. A CPL license and Tasers training may be required; PA 330 certification could be pursued where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years' law-enforcement related work experience (police officer, hospital/security, reserve police, or military police).
• Ability to take charge and direct others in emergencies or dangerous incidents.
• Electronic Control Devices usage requires CPL license and Tasers training; carry CPL and specialized Taser training may be required.
• CRT-BLS/AED/First Aid certifications required or expected.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus on foot and by vehicle; assist with doors and security duties.
• Enforce hospital rules, regulations, and policies as appropriate.
• Support Security Operations Center monitoring and communications.
• Prepare and send safety and security reports to management.
• Investigate suspected crimes on hospital grounds and off-site locations; cooperate with law enforcement.
• Provide escorts to staff, visitors, and patients; respond to incidents quickly.
