Job summary

Corewell Health seeks a dedicated security professional to maintain a safe hospital environment. You will patrol grounds, monitor activities, and assist staff while following policies. The role requires appropriate certifications and the ability to respond decisively in emergencies.

Responsibilities include incident reporting, collaboration with law enforcement, and providing patient and visitor safety, including de-escalation and in certain cases medical/CPR support as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of law-enforcement or security experience.
• Ability to lead others in emergencies.
• Licensed to carry ECDs; CPL license and Taser training required.
• Valid state driver’s license upon hire.
• BLS, AED, and First Aid certifications preferred.
• State-mandated PA 330 compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus on foot and vehicle; assist with doors and external security.
• Monitor Security Operations Center; report on safety performance.
• Complete daily reports and logs; escalate as needed.
• Investigate suspected crimes; cooperate with law enforcement.
• Provide security escorts; prevent unauthorized access.
• Use non-violent de-escalation to manage volatile situations.
• Assist clinical staff with patient restraint when required.
• Possess/operate weapons per policy; PA 330 compliance as directed.
• Provide CPR/first aid during medical emergencies; HazMat duties as needed.
