Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a security officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors across hospital property and off-site facilities.

Under supervision, you will enforce policies, monitor alarms and reports, and assist in emergencies. The role may involve armed security responsibilities under Michigan law, with certification requirements and potential PA 330 involvement where applicable.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of law-enforcement related work experience.
• Ability to lead in emergencies and direct others.
• Current CPL and approval for ECD use; specialized training completed.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus on foot and by vehicle to deter security violations.
• Assist patients, visitors and staff and enforce hospital policies.
• Monitor Security Operations Center communications and alarms.
• Prepare and file security reports for management.
• Investigate suspected crimes on campus and coordinate with law enforcement.
• Provide security escorts and prevent unauthorized access.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage volatile situations.
