Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a capable Security Officer to protect patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include patrolling campus, responding to security alerts, de-escalating situations, and supporting fire and disaster response teams.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, security or healthcare experience, and a valid driver’s license. IA HSS certification is preferred or to be completed within a year of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• IAHSS Basic Officer Certification preferred or must be completed within 1 year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Experience in security or healthcare and customer service preferred.
• Maintenance of IAHSS certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital property to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
• Control individuals exhibiting aggressive or violent behavior.
• Investigate security incidents and document findings in reports.
• Maintain daily activity logs and incident records.
• Lock and unlock various buildings on campus.
• Participate in fire and disaster response teams.
• Enforce hospital parking policies.
• Respond to agitation and de-escalate or restrain as needed.
• Maintain professional, courteous conduct with all customers.
• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
