Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Part-time Per Diem Security Officer for Samaritan Hospital to oversee visitor management and related duties. The role involves security rounds, ensuring secured offices, incident reporting, and documenting investigations in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requirements include NYS Security License, current training, NYS driver’s license, high school diploma, and at least one year in security or law enforcement.

Qualifications

• NYS Security License required; active police officers may need NYS Security Guard license within 90 days of hire.
• Current Training Certificate required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills and good oral, interpersonal and written communication needed to document investigations.
• Minimum one year of security or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs all security and safety rounds as assigned.
• Ensures that offices and suites are secured.
• Responds to calls for service promptly.
• Reports suspicious activity to Lead Security Officer or designee.
• Identifies hazards and threats and initiates corrective actions or notifies supervisor.
• Completes written incident reports as assigned.
• Prepares property reports for patient valuables and secures them in the department safe.
• Uses the department's digital camera to document areas with incidents.
• Occasional pickup hours at Acute care facilities as needed.
• Security Officer role focuses on visitor management and related duties.
