Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer to protect hospital property and ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff. You will patrol grounds on foot and by vehicle, respond to alarms and incidents, and perform safety checks under the supervision of the Security Manager.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma, basic security training, and relevant certifications (BMVL, TASER, BLS).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Police or Private Security training preferred.
• BMVL license required (must maintain driving eligibility).
• Taser certification within 180 days of employment.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital property and facilities on foot and by vehicle to detect unsafe conditions and policy violations.
• Respond to alarms, emergency calls, and requests for assistance; assist as needed.
• Lock/unlock doors, secure valuables, provide money and safety escorts for staff and visitors.
• Investigate criminal offenses on hospital property and file reports accordingly.
• Physically restrain patients when medically supervised or when necessary for safety.
• Perform routine safety checks and document findings; write required reports.
