Job summary

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Security Officer to patrol and protect patients, visitors, and staff. You will enforce hospital security regulations, investigate incidents, and assist in restraining individuals when necessary.

Strong customer service, de-escalation, and reporting abilities are required. Position requires a State license as appropriate, with experience in security or police work; on-site role at 1133 Centre Street with a rotating shift and per diem

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice preferred
• Experience in hospital security/police, EMS, or customer service (3-5 years preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to de-escalate and manage aggression
• Excellent written communication and reporting skills
• Intermediate computer skills and database familiarity

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to identify unsafe conditions and security risks
• Investigate complaints and potential criminal conduct; assist in restraining patients as needed
• Prepare and submit written incident reports and maintain logs
• Dispatch and coordinate security personnel using integrated systems
• Detain suspicious individuals when appropriate and coordinate with law enforcement
• Protect valuables and ensure evidence safekeeping
