Endeavor Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer for Skokie Hospital, IL. The role is full-time, day shifts, performing unarmed security, patrols, incident reporting, traffic control, and customer assistance to ensure safe hospital operations.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, CPR, a valid FOID, and a driver’s license; CPI and IAHS certifications are preferred or planned within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Valid Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (FOID) within 90 days of start.
• Current CPR certification within 90 days of start date.
• A valid driver’s license; evidence of auto insurance if using personal vehicle.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within six months of hire.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within twelve months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide unarmed uniformed security and safety-related services.
• Patrol facilities/grounds on foot or by vehicle; investigate incidents.
• Report thefts, losses, or hazards; involve police when needed.
• Respond to service calls promptly and courteously.
• Direct traffic and manage parking to prevent congestion.
• Escort patients/visitors when required and assist police as needed.
• Inspect doors, windows, alarms, and safety equipment daily.
• Prepare incident reports with clear, neat documentation.
