Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Hospital Security Officer in Columbia, SC to safeguard a high-profile healthcare site. You will monitor premises, protect staff and visitors, and provide courteous customer service. The role requires vigilance, de-escalation skills, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities include patrolling, inspecting equipment, screening individuals, and responding to emergencies with composed urgency. Prior experience with customers is valued; HS diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or handling stressful situations.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED (Certificates of Completion not acceptable).
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Post-offer training and Management of Aggressive Behavior certification.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to check safety and security conditions.
• Orally and physically de-escalate individuals as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite admittance.
• Respond to incidents (fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, hazards) with calm urgency.
• May include patient escort or transport of deceased to morgue.
