Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security services provider, is seeking an Armed Security Officer – Hospital Access in Columbia, SC. You will monitor and protect patients, staff, and visitors while patrolling and controlling access in a healthcare environment.

The role requires an armed guard card, 1 year of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license. It offers full-time hours with competitive benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional manner while coordinating with facility personnel and responders.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor, patient, and contractor access in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations and security-related concerns to leadership and site management.
